Research topics

Title : Fluvial geomorphology

Keywords : Fluvial geomorphology, sedimentation, bedload transport, contemporary channel changes, riparian landscapes, environmental perception, GIS and remote sensing

Current research interests

  • Fluvial corridor contemporary changes (channel, riparian areas, abandoned channels)
  • Process monitoring  (bedload transport, floodplain and channel sedimentation, transport of large woody debris) and characterisation of bio-physical structures (aquatic and riparian habitats, dendrometry of riparian trees)
  • Characterisation of fluvial corridors by ground and airborne imagery (ground videos, very high resolution vertical imagery from drone, thermal imagery)
  • Environnemental perception using photo/video-questionnaires and textual corpora
  • Knowledge production and methodological developement for river planning, management, conservation and restoration

  • 1996 Lyon Young Scholar Price (Humanities)
  • 1996 Henry Milon Prize, French Hydrotechnic Society (PhD distinction)
  • 1998 CNRS Bronze Medal (distinction for an international scientific activity)
